Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced the addition of a new ship, SS Emilie, to its fleet by 2026. This strategic move marks not only an expansion but also a celebration, coinciding with the company’s 50th anniversary. The design of SS Emilie is inspired by the renowned Austrian painter, Gustav Klimt, and pays tribute to his muse and partner, Emilie Flöge.
Ellen Bettridge, the president and CEO, emphasised the incorporation of state-of-the-art technology without compromising on the vessel’s elegance and functionality. She stated, “Technology is going to be very important,” highlighting the company’s aim for innovation while maintaining its luxurious standards. This approach follows their record-breaking successes in recent years, projecting similar achievements for 2024.
The launch of SS Emilie is part of a broader strategy, with SS Victoria expected to start operations on the Rhine and Moselle in 2024, followed by SS Elisabeth on the Rhine in 2025. These successive unveilings underscore Uniworld’s active expansion and enhancement of its cruise experiences, particularly in Europe.
