Originally one of the pioneers in the UK to achieve B Corp status, the company has elevated its score from an original 81.2 to 96.3. This nearly 20% improvement over three years highlights Pura Aventura’s ongoing commitment to balancing profit with societal and environmental responsibilities.
Since 2019, Pura Aventura has committed to donating 1% of its revenues and has offset 160% of its holiday carbon emissions, further underscoring its dedication to environmental stewardship. This conscious effort to contribute positively to the planet is a core principle driving the company’s operations and is integral to its ethos of responsible travel.
Co-founder and chief executive, Thomas Power, expressed profound satisfaction with the improved certification. He remarked on the considerable effort required to advance the score by over 15 points, describing the achievement as monumental. Power is driven by the goal of surpassing the 100-point mark in the next recertification period, reflecting an aspiration to continuously elevate the company’s standards.
