Riviera Travel, a prominent name in the cruise industry, is poised to expand its fleet with the introduction of two new river ships in 2025, namely the Riviera Radiance and Riviera Rose. This development marks a significant chapter in their expansion strategy, as emphasized by Phil Hullah, the chief executive of Riviera Travel, who highlighted these vessels’ role in showcasing their brand and accelerating growth plans.
The Riviera Radiance is set to launch in March 2025, accommodating 178 guests. It will feature three full decks and a trio of dining options, which are part of its innovative hospitality approach. Notably, its Grand Suites, spanning 344 square feet, are poised to be the most spacious suites offered by the line, complete with separate lounges and seated balconies. Complementing its luxurious accommodations, Radiance will also include a restaurant, bar and lounge, fitness room, and a sun deck furnished with a swimming pool.
Following closely, the Riviera Rose will set sail in April 2025, offering 114 guests a unique cruising experience. It will house 57 cabins over three decks, including four Balcony Suites with outdoor seating arrangements. Additionally, standard cabins will be enhanced with French balconies, complete with sliding doors and indoor seating areas. The Riviera Rose will also feature similar facilities to the Radiance, ensuring guests enjoy consistent luxury across the fleet.
A notable aspect of this launch is Radiance’s aim to achieve the Gold Standard in the Green Awards programme. This initiative underscores an independent evaluation of safety and environmental performance, aligning with Riviera Travel’s commitment to sustainability and excellence. Moreover, these ships will bear the Riviera name on their bows for the first time, symbolising a new era for the brand.
In preparation for this launch, Riviera Travel has announced plans to significantly increase its engagement with travel agents in the coming year. With an agenda to host 60% more agents onboard for familiarisation trips, the company is increasing its efforts to ensure these new additions are well-promoted and integrated into the market.
Riviera Travel’s upcoming ships signify a transformative step towards enhanced luxury and sustainability in river cruising.
