The ‘Back In Time For Bed’ group has announced the return of its popular family fun day, set to take place aboard the majestic Royal Caribbean International’s Anthem of the Seas. This much-anticipated event, scheduled for 11th August in Southampton, promises to be a day filled with entertainment and opportunities, designed to engage both children and their parents in a setting unlike any other.
In addition to offering a plethora of activities tailored for families, the event provides a unique networking platform for participants to connect and share experiences. This initiative not only showcases the numerous features and attractions of the cruise ship but also fosters a sense of community among attendees.
The group, which initially launched in February 2023, is a collaborative effort by Vicky Billing, UK & Ireland head of trade and partnerships for Riviera Travel, and Anna Perrott, partnerships director at Panache Cruises. Their vision for the family fun day stems from a demand that exceeded expectations in the previous year, compelling them to host a second event to accommodate more families and continue the enjoyment witnessed previously.
Anna Perrott expressed the joy in seeing attendees from last year still reminiscing about their experiences. She emphasised the value of providing families with an occasion to create cherished memories aboard such remarkable products, noting the enduring impact these experiences have had on participants.
The group’s Facebook presence has grown significantly, now boasting 900 members, reflecting its expanding influence and the increased volunteer involvement for organising events and managing its website. Perrott highlighted the irony in needing extra assistance while promoting work/life balance, acknowledging the overwhelming enthusiasm and support the group has received.
With the integration of new members like Lucy Paterson, Julie Berry, Jemma Bridges, and Michael Young-Richards, the team is well equipped to extend its offerings. This expansion will further facilitate the sharing of content related to balancing professional and personal lives within the travel industry, advocating for an improved work environment for families.
The success of ‘Back In Time For Bed’ exemplifies the high demand for family-oriented events in the travel industry, as well as the importance of community and balance.
