After a commendable stint of nine years steering Hurtigruten’s commercial strategy, Anthony Daniels has decided to step down from his role as vice-president of sales and marketing for the UK and EMEA. His leadership has significantly bolstered the company, particularly in enhancing its presence across both established and emerging markets, including the UK.
Daniels is a veteran of the cruise industry, with a career spanning over 30 years. His experience includes significant positions at renowned companies such as Cunard, Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and Seabourn. These roles have equipped him with intricate knowledge and expertise, which he leveraged effectively at Hurtigruten.
In an official statement, Daniels expressed immense pride in the achievements realised during his tenure and gratitude towards his colleagues for their support and camaraderie. He remarked, “I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved during my time at Hurtigruten,” highlighting the successful collaborations forged under his guidance.
Daniels further stated his intention to explore new projects and opportunities beyond his current position. This decision marks a new chapter for him, signifying a forward-looking approach towards his career despite stepping down from his established role.
Replacing Daniels on an interim basis is James Howlett, currently serving as the UK sales manager. His appointment is seen as a stabilising move while Hurtigruten embarks on a search for a permanent replacement. Patrick Brewer, the chief commercial officer, has articulated his appreciation for Daniels’ extensive contributions and commitment to the company’s growth trajectory and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Anthony Daniels’ departure marks the end of a significant era for Hurtigruten, as the company now looks to future leadership and growth.
