- Increased interest from international visitors, particularly from the Netherlands and Germany.
Landal GreenParks UK has witnessed a remarkable surge in bookings, attributed to the growing trend of longer staycations. With a 24% increase in bookings from early July onwards, the numbers reflect a broader consumer shift towards more extended holidays. The newly added parks in Cornwall and Lancashire have been pivotal in accommodating this demand, providing extensive facilities that attract a diverse clientele.
The southwest of England emerges as a preferred destination for staycations, with a 57% rise in 14-night stay bookings. This shift highlights a consumer desire to maximise leisure time with family and explore regional attractions. Approximately 60% of the overall bookings now cater to stays of a week or longer, underscoring the popularity of extended vacations.
The strategic expansion of Landal GreenParks with sites like Landal Whalesborough Resort & Spa and additional lodges at Bude Coastal Resort and Clowance illustrates an effective response to heightened demand. These enhancements not only provide more accommodation options but also elevate the overall guest experience, encouraging repeat visits and positive reviews.
Managing Director Paul Hardingham points out, “We are delighted to see such a strong start to the summer season.” Guests are not only keen on longer stays but are also using the parks as a launchpad to discover more of what the UK has to offer, adding value to the holiday experience.
International interest has also surged, with a 49% increase in bookings from abroad. Predominantly driven by visitors from the Netherlands and Germany, this segment now constitutes 15% of total bookings, attracted likely by appealing facilities like indoor pools and on-site dining. This trend signifies the parks’ growing reputation beyond domestic boundaries, capitalising on their comprehensive guest offerings.
The trend towards longer staycations and international appeal significantly boosts Landal GreenParks UK bookings, establishing it as a key player in the holiday sector.
