APT & Travelmarvel has announced a significant leadership change with the promotion of Robin Griffiths, formerly the business development manager for central England, to the newly established position of national account manager. This appointment is indicative of the company’s strategic objectives to bolster its trade relationships, with Griffiths being selected due to his exceptional account management capabilities and impressive sales performance. His dynamic approach also sets him apart as the ideal choice for this pivotal role.
From 1 March 2024, Griffiths will commence his responsibilities as national account manager, where he will oversee current key accounts and work towards increasing volume with emerging partners. Additionally, his objectives include identifying and developing new relationships with wholesalers, a step forward considering 70% of APT & Travelmarvel’s business is sourced through trade.
The establishment of this role aligns with APT & Travelmarvel’s broader ambition to expand its third-party business offerings. This focus on development through trade underscores the company’s resolve to innovate and grow within the competitive cruise and touring industry.
Koral Lipton, after a 15-month tenure as business development manager north, will be leaving APT & Travelmarvel at the end of February to embark on a career in the ocean cruising sector. Her departure marks a significant transition for the organisation in terms of leadership within the northern regions of the UK, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Brad Bennetts, the head of sales and business development, emphasised the company’s ongoing focus on talent nurturing, expressing both sadness at Lipton’s departure and excitement for Griffiths’ new responsibilities.
Griffiths’ promotion comes amidst APT & Travelmarvel’s efforts to recruit new business development managers for both central and northern England, as well as Scotland and Northern Ireland, demonstrating a clear proactive approach to maintaining robust leadership and continuing the brand’s heritage of excellence.
APT & Travelmarvel’s strategic leadership changes reflect its ambition to strengthen trade partnerships and foster growth.
