Reports indicate that AmaWaterways has achieved a remarkable 78% year-on-year increase in travel agent partnerships, highlighting an impressive surge in bookings for its river cruises. This growth is part of a broader trend, with reservations made for any departure year in 2023 showing a 46% increase compared to the same results in 2019. The expansion of AmaWaterways’ reservations team by 50% underpins this success, as they accommodate the escalating interest from partners and customers alike.
To further enhance service delivery, AmaWaterways has introduced a dedicated agency support executive, demonstrating its commitment to supporting travel agents as they navigate the increased demand. This year also saw the company invite over 500 travel agents aboard its ships, underscoring the emphasis on in-depth product knowledge and firsthand experience. This initiative reflects the importance placed on trade partners, as more than 90% of AmaWaterways’ UK business is generated through these collaborations.
In a statement, UK managing director Jamie Loizou expressed gratification towards the year’s achievements. ‘We are very pleased with this year’s results and delighted that our travel agent partners have earned more in commission from AmaWaterways than ever before,’ he stated. Loizou highlighted that the exotics programme, especially cruises on the Mekong River, has shown exceptional performance, with the AmaMagna continuing to captivate the luxury market’s imagination.
In a strategic move during its wave campaign, AmaWaterways is set to offer valuable incentives from 26 December for select 2024 and 2025 cruises. These incentives include complimentary flights and overseas transfers, alongside potential savings of up to £1,500 per couple, aimed at further stimulating interest and booking activities.
AmaWaterways’ significant growth reflects the company’s successful strategies and robust engagement with travel agents.
