Carnival Cruise Line has provided new insights into Celebration Key, its private island destination located in Grand Bahama, scheduled to launch in July 2025. The island promises to feature in over 500 itineraries involving 18 Carnival ships from nine US homeports, with capacity for two ships to dock simultaneously at the location.
The island is designed to cater to diverse interests through five distinct ‘portals’. These include the Welcome Portal, where guests are greeted with a giant sandcastle and live music, setting the tone for the experiences ahead. This entry point also offers vital information about the island’s attractions.
The Family-Friendly Portal is strategically designed for younger guests and families. It centres around a large freshwater lagoon, and includes a splash pad, shallow pool, racing water slides, a sports court, and cabanas. This area is crafted to ensure enjoyment and safety for children of all ages, providing excitement through play and exploration.
More mature audiences have the Adult-Friendly Portal, which boasts a swim-up bar, cabanas, and various dining options including a full-service restaurant. In contrast, the Private Club Portal is elevated for those seeking exclusivity, featuring an infinity pool and gourmet dining with space for lounging in an adult-only environment.
Shopping enthusiasts can explore the Retail Portal, which highlights local Bahamian goods alongside duty-free outlets. This area supports local craftspeople while offering tourists unique mementos.
An events pavilion is also included, catering to special occasions such as weddings and vow renewals, thereby enhancing the island’s appeal as a romantic destination. Further amenities such as a waterpark and zipline are planned to expand its attractions.
Christine Duffy, President, emphasised the unique opportunities Celebration Key offers: “No one does fun like Carnival. We are designing Celebration Key with endless ways for our guests to unlock their own kind of fun in this incredible paradise that also celebrated the beauty of Grand Bahama.”
Celebration Key promises to be an unparalleled paradise combining fun, relaxation, and local culture for Carnival’s cruise passengers.
