- Agents will benefit from a blend of learning and networking opportunities.
In an effort to bolster the skills of new cruise agents, Clia is adding a ‘new to selling cruise day’ to its annual conference. This initiative is tailored to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of agents who are entering the cruise sales sector. It will consist of sales training and brand introductions provided by select suppliers, aiming to equip agents with the requisite tools to succeed.
This additional day precedes the 17th annual Clia UK & Ireland conference, slated for May 22–24, 2025, in Southampton. Recognised as Europe’s largest gathering of travel agents, the event is set to open with conference sessions and a vibrant industry trade fair, held across various venues in Southampton.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to visit esteemed vessels, such as Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Balmoral, P&O Cruises’ Britannia, or Oceania Cruises’ Vista, on the second day. These visits culminate with a sailaway party, providing a rich environment for interaction and networking with industry peers.
The third day extends further exploration of luxury cruise liners with tours of MSC Virtuosa or Princess Cruises’ Sky Princess. Such visits are designed to offer agents a tactile understanding of the products they will represent, enriching their ability to market these experiences effectively.
The conference also promises to cover every facet of the cruise industry, from ocean and river cruises to expedition, yacht, and sailing sectors. This all-encompassing approach ensures that agents receive varied insights and practical knowledge crucial for their professional development.
Clia UK & Ireland managing director Andy Harmer emphasises the momentum the conference aims to harness. He stated, ‘Our 2025 conference promises to be a standout date in the travel trade calendar, showcasing an incredible selection of ships and delivering the latest industry insights.’ This underlines the conference’s significance as a pivotal event for knowledge acquisition and networking.
The upcoming Clia conference in 2025 is set to offer an unmatched educational and networking platform for cruise agents.
