Autotech Training has joined forces with the CV parts distributor, Alliance Automotive Group (AAG), to offer a comprehensive suite of training courses designed to upskill vehicle technicians across AAG’s network of 1,200 garages. This strategic partnership seeks to bolster the technical capabilities of AutoCare, United Garage Services, Top Truck, and NexDrive garages, by utilising their annual training allowances for courses provided by Autotech. The focus is on light and heavy vehicles, ensuring a wide range of coverage in the evolving automotive landscape.
The training curriculum is expansive, addressing the burgeoning demand for skills in areas such as electric and hybrid vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems. As the industry transitions towards modern vehicle technologies, these courses are pivotal in equipping technicians with the necessary expertise to handle advanced automotive technologies. Autotech’s dedicated trainers will deliver these courses across various AAG-approved venues, providing a practical and conducive environment for learning.
Moreover, in response to the growing demands of contemporary vehicle maintenance, Autotech Training plans to introduce new accredited courses that cater to AAG’s specific needs. These courses will encompass both the essential technical skills, including emerging areas like hydrogen, and non-technical skills, such as customer service. Autotech’s operations director, Alistair McCrindle, highlighted the significance of this partnership as the largest in Autotech’s history, emphasising its role in delivering quality accredited training to the aftermarket.
AAG has recognised the challenges posed by new and emerging technologies in the automotive sector. According to Scott Simpson, AAG’s technical training manager, the partnership with Autotech Training is a crucial step towards enhancing the skillset of their technicians and ensuring that AAG’s network has greater access to quality training. This collaboration exemplifies AAG’s commitment to investing in the professional development of its workforce, setting a benchmark for training excellence in the automotive industry.
The partnership between Autotech Training and AAG represents a forward-thinking approach to addressing the skills shortage in the automotive sector.
