Oceania Cruises is set to give its Marina ship a comprehensive upgrade in May 2024.
- Marina will introduce three new dining venues, enhancing its culinary offerings.
- Public and private spaces aboard the vessel will receive significant updates.
- All upper suites will undergo a transformation to introduce a brighter ambience.
- This refurbishing marks Marina as the last ship in Oceania’s current fleet to be revamped.
Oceania Cruises has officially announced that the Marina, one of its 1,250-passenger ships, is scheduled for a comprehensive refurbishment in May 2024. This refurbishment promises to enhance the ship’s offerings, focusing primarily on its culinary venues and ambience. Three new dining experiences will be added: the Aquamar Kitchen, known for its wellness-focused menu which first appeared on the Vista; an expanded poolside ice cream parlour; and a new casual al fresco trattoria.
The refurbishment extends beyond culinary expansions, reaching into both private and public areas of the ship. Each upper suite will be reimagined to achieve a lighter and brighter aesthetic. The renowned steakhouse, Polo Grill, will undergo changes including new carpet installations, updated window treatments, and a complete redesign of dining chairs. Enhancements in the Penthouse Suites will feature custom-crafted furniture, new closets, cabinetry for increased storage, new carpets, upholstery, lighting, and restyled bathrooms.
Public areas will not be neglected in this extensive refurbishment. Martinis, Horizons, the Grand Dining Room, and the Library are all set for updates, ensuring that the public spaces match the refreshed private suites in terms of contemporary design and comfort.
The excitement within Oceania Cruises regarding these updates is palpable, as highlighted by Frank A. Del Rio, the president of the company. He emphasised that Marina’s design is deeply rooted in a passion for culinary excellence, stating, “Food is the foundation of what we do on board each of our ships.” With the addition of these new dining venues, the Marina’s culinary reputation is expected to reach new heights.
This comprehensive refurbishment of Marina marks the last of the current fleet to undergo such an update, as Oceania Cruises continues to enhance its offerings. Following Marina’s anticipated transformation, the line’s eighth ship, Allura, is set for launch in spring 2025, representing the future of Oceania’s fleet.
Marina’s comprehensive refurbishment in 2024 underscores Oceania Cruises’ commitment to elevating its culinary and guest experiences on board.
