Travel Counsellors has announced an impressive sales increase for its most recent quarter, marking the company’s most successful second quarter to date. The group achieved £270 million in sales from February to April, reflecting a 13% rise compared to the same period last year. This accomplishment underscores the company’s robust growth trajectory, having recorded 13 consecutive quarters of double-digit growth, with total sales reaching £977 million over the past 12 months.
The integration of the Phenix booking platform and TC Teams has been instrumental in driving this success. The Phenix platform, adopted by over half of the company’s business owners, facilitates the handling of complex, multi-destination itineraries. Moreover, TC Teams supports collaborative efforts in managing these intricate travel plans. Such technological advancements are crucial as more than 61% of the business owners now rely on these systems to streamline operations.
Travel Counsellors also reported a notable increase in its pool of business owners. With the recruitment of 76 new business owners in the last quarter alone, which is a 10% increase from the previous year, the firm is rapidly expanding its workforce. Notably, April saw a surge with 32 new starters. This growth is indicative of the confidence in the company’s business model and the opportunities it presents.
The company has identified cruises and experiential travel to regions such as Southeast Asia, Japan, South America, Sri Lanka, and Canada as the most popular choices among clients. This preference reflects a broadening interest in diverse travel experiences, aligning with wider industry trends that favour unique and culturally rich destinations.
According to CEO Steve Byrne, this remarkable sales performance is attributed to the community’s dedication to customer care combined with cutting-edge technology. Byrne emphasised the importance of high-touch personal service and highlighted the potential for substantial growth in each of the markets they operate in.
Travel Counsellors’ strategic investments in technology and workforce expansion are proving successful as they continue to capture increased market share.
