In an effort to bolster the expertise of travel agents in expedition cruising, Seabourn is launching an ambitious Expedition Month in June. This initiative includes a chance for agents to win a coveted Arctic sailing in the summer of 2025. By participating in a series of insightful webinars and making a qualifying Seabourn expedition booking between June 1 and August 31, agents can enter this exclusive prize draw.
Over the span of four weeks, a 45-minute webinar will be held each Tuesday morning. These sessions are designed to offer travel agents a deeper insight into expedition destinations while also reflecting upon the inaugural year of Seabourn Pursuit. The first two webinars, scheduled for June 4 and 11, will be presented by Robin West, Seabourn’s vice-president of expeditions, who will share his expertise on navigating the challenging terrains of Antarctica and the warm-weather voyages across the Pacific, Amazon, and Kimberley.
The subsequent webinar on June 18 will be hosted by Danae Sheehan, a specialist in expedition cruising and ornithology. Sheehan will provide her expertise on the intricacies of Arctic sailings, offering agents a chance to expand their knowledge on these remote and captivating destinations. Each webinar is crafted to meet the evident demand from agents for more comprehensive training and resources to effectively sell expedition destinations.
Complementing the webinar series, Seabourn will roll out newsletters focusing on enhancing selling skills and product knowledge. Moreover, engaging social media quizzes with the potential to win prizes are part of the month-long initiative, thereby ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning environment for all participants. Lynn Narraway, Seabourn’s vice-president for the UK and EMEA, emphasised the importance of these resources in response to travel partners’ expressed needs for training during the first-ever Expedition Cruise Summit hosted on the Seabourn Venture in Greenwich. She further recommended that agents commence their learning journey by visiting SeabournAcademy.co.uk to take the dedicated training module, ‘Selling Seabourn’s Ultra-Luxury Expedition Travel by Ship’.
This comprehensive approach demonstrates Seabourn’s commitment to equipping their travel partners with essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the niche expedition cruising market, driven by a clear demand for robust training solutions.
Seabourn’s Expedition Month is a strategic initiative aimed at empowering agents with the expertise and resources needed to navigate the evolving expedition travel sector.
