GITEX GLOBAL 2024, the world’s largest technology event, concluded in Dubai, cementing its reputation as a premier global platform for innovation and collaboration.
With artificial intelligence (AI) at the forefront, this year’s event showcased the transformative power of AI across industries, reinforcing its role as a critical driver of global economic growth.
Over 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, and 200,000 visitors from 180 countries gathered for this year’s event, making it the most internationally diverse edition of GITEX GLOBAL. Under the theme “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy,” the event highlighted the growing importance of AI in reshaping industries and sparking new business opportunities. AI took centre stage throughout the five days, with discussions ranging from its role in cybersecurity and data centres to its application in sectors such as healthcare, transportation, and finance.
Key global tech companies like Oracle, Dell Technologies, and Microsoft used GITEX GLOBAL to announce strategic collaborations and showcase their latest AI advancements. Oracle highlighted its partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment to implement cloud infrastructure that supports Dubai’s housing strategy. It also announced collaborations with Mashreq Bank to enhance the bank’s global operations through AI and cloud technology.
Dell Technologies focused on the launch of its AI Factory offerings, designed to help businesses in the region adopt AI solutions. Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice President for CEEMETA at Dell, stated that AI is increasingly becoming central to the future strategies of their regional customers, with Dell at the heart of these innovations. Microsoft also made a significant impact at GITEX GLOBAL, unveiling its latest Cloud Dividend Snapshot report, which demonstrated the role of its cloud ecosystem in fostering economic growth and job creation in the UAE. Microsoft also launched the AI National Skilling Initiative in partnership with UAE government departments, aimed at equipping individuals and organisations with the necessary skills to thrive in the AI-driven era.
Throughout the event, several key themes emerged, including the role of AI in cybersecurity, the development of next-generation mobility solutions, and the rise of AI-powered data centres. The event also explored the future of healthcare through AI, with GITEX DIGI_HEALTH 5.0 showcasing the latest AI-driven innovations aimed at transforming patient care.
As GITEX GLOBAL 2024 concluded, its role as a catalyst for cross-regional partnerships and AI innovation was evident. This year’s event not only reinforced Dubai’s position as a leading global tech hub but also highlighted the critical importance of collaboration in shaping the future AI economy. With the AI market projected to reach USD $1,339.1 billion by 2030, GITEX GLOBAL is expected to continue playing a pivotal role in driving the global digital transformation.
Looking ahead, GITEX GLOBAL will return from 13-17 October 2025, before relocating to Expo City Dubai in 2026, further expanding its reach and influence in the global tech landscape.
