Royal Caribbean has introduced an innovative loyalty initiative called Upper Deck, designed to propel agents’ earning capabilities to unprecedented heights. Launching on 3 September, this programme will be integrated into the online travel agent platform, aiming to streamline and enrich the booking process for agents across the industry.
The essence of Upper Deck lies in its tiered reward system that equates higher-value bookings with greater financial rewards. By doing so, the company underscores its commitment to fostering stronger partnerships with travel agents. The scheme offers up to £500 for substantial bookings, providing a compelling incentive for agents to prioritise higher-value sales.
Senior Sales Director, Aaron Langford, articulated the significance of this strategy, highlighting that travel partners are pivotal to Royal Caribbean’s operations. He shared that the programme has been meticulously designed based on feedback from these partners, emphasising the company’s dedication to recognising and rewarding agents’ efforts in securing premium bookings.
Under the Upper Deck scheme, specific commissions are allocated based on the value of the bookings: £15 for bookings over £2,000, £30 for those surpassing £5,000, £60 for £10,000, £150 for £25,000, and a substantial £500 for bookings exceeding £50,000. This structured payout system is facilitated through a prepaid digital Mastercard, adding convenience and efficiency to the reward mechanism.
Additionally, an appealing £10 incentive is earmarked for each group reservation, further enhancing potential earnings for Upper Deck members. Personal travel bookings by agents themselves also attract a generous £100 reward, available for use worldwide, thus enriching personal travel experiences.
In a move to celebrate the affiliation with its travel agents, Royal Caribbean has announced a special recognition for the top twelve agents with the highest-value bookings during the initial month of the programme. These select agents will enjoy a five-night cruise from Miami on the Independence of the Seas, reinforcing the programme’s emphasis on rewarding excellence.
Royal Caribbean’s ‘Upper Deck’ programme represents a strategic enhancement in agent reward systems, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to industry partnerships.
