Celestyal Cruises is adapting its inaugural Arabian Gulf season by revising several itineraries amidst current geopolitical uncertainties. The changes include rerouting repositioning cruises via the Red Sea, diverging from their original paths to avoid unstable regions. This has culminated in the cancellation of the two 14-night repositioning cruises initially planned from October 26, 2024, and March 8, 2025, to longer non-commercial routes.
The strategic adjustments extend to the first three Desert Days itineraries, with departures from Doha on November 9, 16, and 23, 2025, also being cancelled. These cancellations reflect the cruise line’s proactive approach to ensure passenger safety and operational efficiency in a volatile geopolitical climate.
Further itinerary modifications include a restructured maiden voyage of the Celestial Journey to align with the Qatar Grand Prix. This revised seven-night Desert Days & Qatar Grand Prix cruise will initiate a round trip from Doha on November 30, 2024, featuring a three-day port stay in Doha for the race, and subsequent travels to Dubai, Khasab, Sir Bani Yas Island, and Abu Dhabi.
In addition, Celestial has reallocated the seven-night Desert Days & Abu Dhabi Grand Prix cruise itinerary to commence from Dubai on December 2, 2024. It includes an extended day in Abu Dhabi on December 8 for race attendees, thereby enhancing its appeal to motorsport enthusiasts.
The winter season for Celestial Journey now comprises nine seven-night Desert Days voyages and two specialised Grand Prix excursions from November 2024 to March 2025.
