In a strategic move to enhance its member engagement and regional presence, Protected Trust Services (PTS) has opened a new office in Sunderland. This third location complements existing offices in Bournemouth and Fleetwood, part of a broader strategy to improve the membership offering and expand its services across the UK.
The Sunderland office, accommodating up to eight sales and marketing personnel, also provides hot-desk facilities for visiting suppliers. This logistical addition underscores PTS’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with both members and suppliers, making it a pivotal point for networking and communication.
Daniel Landen, PTS’s chief executive, emphasised the importance of the new northern office as part of their overarching strategy. He highlighted that having a physical presence in the north facilitates better communication and support for their members, stating, “We are here to talk to you.” This demonstrates PTS’s focus on member-centric service, reinforcing their dedication to acting on behalf of travel agents and operators.
PTS’s ambition to grow its membership from 400 to 1,000 over five years is reflective of its drive to create a more substantial industry footprint. Landen remarked on PTS’s customer-focused mantra, noting that their members are considered customers, ensuring sustained support and service delivery. The expansion helps agents achieve their potential without bureaucratic hurdles, as suppliers can engage directly without intermediaries.
Executive Director Emma Collis shared insights into PTS’s plans for increased interaction through more frequent events, such as supplier dinners. These initiatives aim to deepen relationships and foster a closer-knit community, echoing the sentiment “The key thing is relationships.” She reiterated the consortium’s dedication to personal engagement and continuous improvement of their service model.
The opening of the Sunderland office marks a significant step in PTS’s strategic expansion and commitment to enhancing member relations.
