Jet2.com and Jet2holidays unveil their largest-ever expansion in Greece for 2024. With a 12% increase in air capacity, this marks a significant milestone.
The programme will feature over 100 routes and introduce new destinations, enhancing travel for UK holidaymakers and strengthening Jet2’s market presence.
Jet2’s Expansive Growth in Greece
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced a significant expansion of their operations in Greece, increasing air capacity by 12% compared to last year. This expansion represents the company’s largest Greece programme to date, featuring more than 100 routes originating from 11 UK airports to 14 destinations in Greece. The strategy is designed to enhance travel options for UK holidaymakers and bolster the company’s presence in the highly competitive travel market.
New Routes and Destinations
Several new routes have been introduced for 2024, including flights from Liverpool to key Greek destinations such as Corfu, Heraklion, Kos, Rhodes, and Zante. Additionally, Birmingham airport will offer flights to Mytilene, and Newcastle will connect to Chania. These new routes are part of a broader effort to offer diverse travel options and reach untapped markets.
Strategic Partnerships and Marketing Efforts
Jet2 has been actively collaborating with the Greek National Tourist Office (GNTO) to drive their marketing efforts. The campaign, launched last year, has achieved significant success in increasing the visibility and appeal of Greece as a tourist destination. The partnership is a testament to the strategic importance of Greece in Jet2’s portfolio and showcases how collaboration can enhance market reach and customer engagement.
Expanded Flight Capacity and Seasonal Extensions
During peak periods, Jet2 will operate approximately 320 weekly flights to Greece, covering various destinations like Athens, Corfu, and Santorini. The increase in capacity, particularly in March and April, underscores the airline’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for Greek holidays. Moreover, the summer season for popular destinations such as Crete (Heraklion) and Rhodes will extend until mid-November, offering travellers more opportunities to visit during the slightly cooler, yet pleasant, autumn months. These adjustments reflect Jet2’s adaptive strategy in boosting tourism through prolonged seasonal offerings.
Additional Services from Manchester
From Manchester, Jet2 will introduce a new Sunday departure for summer 2024, available from July to September. This comes in addition to the existing services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, providing ample travel options for holidaymakers. With these enhancements, Jet2 aims to cater to the varying preferences of travellers, ensuring flexible and convenient travel schedules.
A Broad Array of Accommodation Options
Jet2holidays is expanding its accommodation offerings, with about 1,500 hotels available in Greece next year, including 200 newly added properties. For those seeking more private stays, Jet2Villas will offer nearly 300 villa properties. These accommodations cater to a wide range of preferences and budgets, ensuring that all types of travellers have comfortable options.
Success Through Collaborative Marketing
The marketing campaign, a collaboration with the GNTO, has been described as hugely successful. It included online and offline advertising, social media campaigns, and press and influencer trips. These efforts have significantly boosted visibility and engagement, highlighting Jet2’s commitment to innovative and effective marketing approaches.
Jet2’s strategic expansion in Greece demonstrates their commitment to enhancing holiday experiences and market reach. The innovative approach promises to deliver quality travel options and partnerships.
The success of the GNTO collaboration and expansion efforts is likely to set new benchmarks in tourism, benefiting both travellers and the Greek tourism sector as a whole.
