Claire Hills has been appointed as the national sales manager for retail and online travel agencies (OTAs) at Riviera Travel, a role that took effect from 1 September. Hills’ journey with Riviera began in 2021 when she joined as a key account manager, a position where she has significantly contributed to enhancing trade delivery.
In her new capacity, Hills will lead five key account managers, a strategic move intended to bolster Riviera’s sales management. This development reflects the organisation’s commitment to strengthening its trade partnerships, underlining the importance of travel agent collaboration, which Hills believes is crucial for success. Hills commented, “I look forward to working with our key account managers to improve our already industry-leading trade support.”
Vicky Billing, head of trade and partnerships, expressed confidence in Hills’ capability, highlighting her extensive 20-year experience in field-sales roles. Billing stated, “Claire has been instrumental in our trade delivery over the last few years, and her experience makes her the perfect fit as we continue to drive trade sales.” These organizational changes are part of Riviera’s broader strategy aimed at exceeding targets and supporting trade growth.
The restructuring also sees Amanda Docherty continuing her role as national sales manager for homeworkers, reporting to Billing. Additionally, Darren Mussell has been promoted to trade support manager, and Maddison Glut takes on the role of trade support executive. These promotions are designed to enhance the operational support for trade partners.
Earlier this year, Riviera Travel appointed Will Sarson to the role of product director, joining the executive team. This new role is pivotal for driving product development within the company, indicating a focused approach to expanding the company’s market offerings.
These strategic appointments and promotions underscore Riviera Travel’s commitment to enhancing its trade operations and achieving substantial growth.
