Carnival Cruise Line has announced an ambitious programme to host a record number of travel agents at UK ports throughout the summer of 2024. This initiative is part of a series of events featuring the Carnival Legend, a cruise ship with a capacity of 2,124 passengers. Over the course of these events, a total of 350 trade spaces will be made available for agents to visit the ship, marking a significant effort to engage with industry partners.
The ship visits are scheduled to take place at distinguished ports including Dover, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Greenock/Glasgow, and Belfast. Each visit is designed not only as an opportunity for agents to tour the Carnival Legend but also to partake in lunch at the Lido, where a selection of wine, beer, and soft drinks will be available. These gatherings are poised to offer a prime occasion for interaction and networking among industry professionals.
This extensive programme has been introduced to align with Global Travel Advisor Day, celebrated on May 1st, thereby underscoring the pivotal role of travel agents in the cruise industry. Iain Baillie, the international sales vice-president at Carnival Cruise Line, emphasised this sentiment by stating: “Travel agents are the cornerstone of our industry and we are committed to supporting them in every possible way.”
The Carnival Legend is scheduled to sail out of Dover between June and August, offering a series of nine-day round trips that cover Britain and the western Mediterranean. This itinerary not only promotes exploration of these regions but also represents a broader objective of educating travel agents about the unique experiences offered onboard. Agents wishing to participate can find further details and register through official online platforms.
Carnival Cruise Line’s UK ship visit initiative reflects a strategic effort to bolster agent relations through experiential engagement.
