Windstar is set to expand its range of South Pacific cruises in 2026 and 2027, motivated by the region’s growing popularity among travellers. The expansion includes the introduction of shorter itineraries ranging from seven to eleven days, providing more flexibility and options for holidaymakers looking to explore the stunning landscapes and cultures of the South Pacific.
The cruise line is enhancing its regional offerings with new air and hotel packages, elevating the convenience and appeal of its travel experiences. Beginning in 2026, destinations such as Fiji, Tonga, the Cook Islands, Tahiti, the Society Islands, the Tuamotus, and the Marquesas will be featured in their itineraries. This strategy aims to provide a seamless travel experience, combining flights and hotels with the allure of a luxurious cruise.
Two vessels, the Wind Star, a Wind Class ship with a capacity of 148 passengers, and the larger Star Breeze, accommodating up to 312 guests, will navigate these islands. This combination allows Windstar to access remote locations with ease while preserving the ecological and cultural integrity of these destinations.
Among the new offerings for 2026 is the 15-day ‘Flowers of the South French Polynesia’ cruise, alongside the ‘Maori Storytellers & French Polynesian Treasures’, which spans 10 or 11 days. Travellers can also enjoy the seven-day ‘Tantalising Tuamotu Islands & Beautiful Bora Bora’ and the 11-day ‘Far Flung French Polynesia and Marquesas Magic’. These itineraries have been crafted to spotlight the distinctive charm and cultural richness of the Polynesian islands.
The ‘Stars Over Bora Bora Air and Overwater Villa package’ exemplifies Windstar’s attention to exclusive travel experiences, featuring a 14-day journey with Air Tahiti Nui flights from Seattle or Los Angeles. It includes a two-night stay in Papeete and three nights in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora. Similarly, the ‘Dreams of Tahiti’ cruise offers a pre-night stay in Bora Bora, enhancing the overall luxury of the cruise experience.
Incentivising early bookings, Windstar presents a special offer for guests reserving a 2026 South Pacific cruise. This includes a complimentary all-inclusive experience, covering Wi-Fi, wine, beer, cocktails, all gratuities, and a $100 onboard credit per stateroom. Christopher Prelog, Windstar’s President, expressed enthusiasm about expanding the itineraries to remote and culturally rich locations such as the Marquesas Islands, reflecting the line’s commitment to offering exceptional and accessible travel options in the South Pacific.
Windstar’s strategic expansion in the South Pacific promises enriching travel experiences, balancing luxury with cultural immersion.
