In a move that signals significant growth for the company, Saga has announced the upcoming launch of its new river cruiser, the Spirit of the Moselle, scheduled to commence operations in July 2025. This 182-passenger vessel will predominantly operate along the Main River in Germany, offering journeys through renowned locations such as Nuremberg, Frankfurt, and the picturesque Rhine Gorge.
The construction of Spirit of the Moselle, which houses 95 cabins, including 73 equipped with French balconies, commenced with a traditional keel laying ceremony in January at Serbia’s Vahali shipyard. This event marks an important milestone for Saga as it broadens its river cruise portfolio, supporting its strategy to enhance its presence in European waterway travel.
This new addition joins its sister ships, Spirit of the Rhine, launched in 2021, and Spirit of the Danube, which followed in 2022. Together, they reflect a sustained commitment to delivering high-standard river cruising experiences. Sergej Tocili, Director of River Product, highlighted the success of the previous vessels and expressed confidence that Spirit of the Moselle will continue this legacy while exploring new river territories.
