Emerald Cruises is set to expand its Star-Ship fleet with the introduction of the new Emerald Astra. This ship, with a capacity for 180 guests, reflects the sleek and elegant design aspects found in the brand’s superyachts. It will become the seventh ship in the series of Star-Ships sailing across Europe.
In line with the expansion, Emerald Astra is scheduled to traverse iconic waterways such as the Rhine, Moselle, and Danube rivers upon its launch in 2026. These routes promise to deliver scenic vistas and culturally rich experiences to travellers.
The company has also announced a strategic enhancement to its existing fleet scheduled for completion by the 2025 river cruising season. This comprehensive update covers vessels operating on major European rivers including the Rhine-Main-Danube, the Rhône, and the Douro.
Upgrades will feature a redesign of key areas such as the Horizon Bar and lounge, with additional enhancements including the integration of a pool/cinema area and dining space updates. Furthermore, attention to detail is underscored by the incorporation of Missoni textiles and yacht-inspired artistic elements.
Importantly, these renovations will ensure that all guest cabins are outfitted with iPads, providing modern technological amenities for a more connected onboard experience. This underscores the company’s commitment to luxury and innovation.
