In a significant move to enhance industry knowledge, Star Clippers is facilitating its most extensive familiarisation trip for UK agents. This initiative aims to provide hands-on experience with the acclaimed sailing line, allowing agents to better present and promote its unique offerings to potential clients.
The journey commences with an eight-night voyage aboard the Star Flyer, departing from Malaga on April 26 and concluding in Rome by May 4. Participating agents will embark on a route that includes picturesque locales such as Motril, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Mahón, and Bonifacio in Corsica. This itinerary offers a comprehensive view of diverse Mediterranean destinations, each with its own charm and allure.
Four agents will begin the voyage in Malaga, continuing to Palma where they will disembark on April 30. Their experiences will be crucial in understanding the dynamics and essence of Star Clippers’ maritime adventures. Subsequently, seven additional agents will join the latter part of the trip from Palma to Rome, further enriching their exposure to the sailing experience.
The cruise line’s UK general manager, Fay McCormack, emphasises the importance of such trips, stating: ‘Providing travel agents with the opportunity to experience a Star Clippers sailing first-hand is the ultimate way to educate industry partners about our unique product.’ Her statement underscores the strategy to deepen agents’ engagement through direct exposure and interaction.
Throughout the voyage, Nicola Cox, regional sales manager for the south, and Alison Jared, her counterpart for the north, will guide and assist the agents. Their roles are pivotal in ensuring that the agents acquire comprehensive insights and knowledge about the operations and offerings of Star Clippers, enhancing their ability to market these luxury voyages.
This significant initiative by Star Clippers stands as a testament to their commitment to fostering informed partnerships within the travel industry.
