- This scheme utilises a partnership with My Booking Rewards to streamline the incentive process.
- Virgin Voyages aims to appreciate and encourage agents’ efforts with this new programme.
Virgin Voyages has introduced the First Mate Loot initiative, a novel incentive programme designed to incentivise and reward travel agents for their hard work. By offering bonus cash payouts as part of this scheme, the cruise line seeks to recognise the pivotal role that agents play in facilitating seamless and enjoyable holidays for passengers.
The First Mate Loot programme is specifically tailored to provide £30 in extra earnings for agents who book clients on Mediterranean or northern Europe sailings scheduled for select dates in 2024 and 2025. For all other cruises, agents are eligible to receive a £10 reward per booking. This nuanced system not only boosts agent morale but also ensures a targeted incentive structure aligned with Virgin Voyages’ strategic objectives.
The implementation of this initiative is facilitated through a collaboration with My Booking Rewards. Agents interested in participating are required to create an account on the First Mate Loot platform, log their bookings, and await verification from Virgin Voyages before receiving their payouts. This streamlined process not only simplifies the administrative burden on agents but also ensures transactions are transparent and efficiently managed.
SJ Walker, UK sales director, elaborated on the initiative’s underlying philosophy, emphasising that the success of passengers’ holiday experiences is intrinsically linked to the dedication of agents. Walker noted, “It’s not lost on us that the reason our sailors [passengers] are able to kick back and enjoy a relaxing holiday at sea is because of the tireless hard work our dedicated First Mates [agents] have put in to get them there.” Such recognition underscores Virgin Voyages’ commitment to valuing their network of agents.
Darren Pearson, founder and chief executive of My Booking Rewards, echoed this sentiment by expressing excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Our agile technology will certainly support their drive to incentivise and reward agents across the UK and Ireland.” This partnership is anticipated to bolster Virgin Voyages’ standing in the competitive cruise market by enhancing agent loyalty and engagement.
Virgin Voyages’ First Mate Loot initiative represents an innovative step towards acknowledging and rewarding the contributions of travel agents.
