Wisol, Sequans collaborate on new family of LTE for IoT modules

LTE for IoT chipmaker Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS) said Wisol, a manufacturer of wireless connectivity modules, will use Sequans´ Monarch LTE Cat M1/NB1 chip, Calliope LTE Cat 1 chipset, and Colibri LTE Cat 4 chipset to design a new family of modules for M2M and IoT applications.

Wisol will design, market, and sell the new IoT-optimized modules, using Wisol´s technologies and components, to its customers worldwide, including in the USA, Japan, and Korea.

Wisol´s LTE-M module is based on Sequans´ Monarch LTE platform, the world´s first and most highly-optimized LTE-M (Cat M1) and NB-IoT (Cat NB1) chip, and a member of Sequans´ StreamliteLTE family of products for IoT devices. Monarch is purpose-built for narrowband IoT applications, including sensors, wearables, and other low-data, low-power M2M and IoT devices. It includes unique RF filtering technology that enables, within a single hardware design and at no added cost, a true single, worldwide SKU with multi-band support for universal and flexible IoT implementation.

The new Sequans-powered Wisol modules are expected to begin sampling in the middle of 2017.

TripAdvisor names JetBlue best North American mid-size, low cost airline

Reliance Jio using WIT's Communication Suite for RCS deployment

WIT Software, a provider of rich and unified communications for Mobile Operators, is being used by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (“Jio”) to achieve a record as the world´s largest deployment of Rich Communication Services (RCS) using the WIT Communications Suite as a foundation for the “Jio4GVoice” service, the company said.

Asiana Airlines awards CTS Engines 5-year overhaul contract

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida-based CTS Engines has been awarded a contract for the overhaul of Asiana Airlines´ CF6-80C2 engine fleet, the company said.

The five-year award was the result of a highly competitive and comprehensive bid process.

“That we were successful in such a competitive process is a testament to CTS´s long-term quality and value proposition.”, said Brian Neff, CTS´s CEO.

CTS Engines provides mature engine maintenance, performing engine overhauls on the CF6-50, CF6-80A, CF6-80C, and PW2000 engine models at its Ft. Lauderdale and Jupiter MRO facilities.

ScanSource acquires Kingcom's channel business

ScanSource, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCSC), a global provider of technology products and solutions, has acquired Kingcom´s channel business assets and associated support organization to sell communication solutions through the Verizon Partner Program (VPP), the company said.

The acquisition was completed through ScanSource´s subsidiary, Intelisys, a technology services provider of business communications and cloud services.

Kingcom is a VPP Platinum member and its channel business brings specialized resources and enhancements for Intelisys sales partners to sell Verizon services to their customers. This acquisition creates a direct supplier relationship between ScanSource and Verizon, and enables Intelisys to add highly qualified Verizon-focused resources to support its customers.

RingCentral launches Channel Harmony

Unique to RingCentral, the program awards partners 100 percent commissions on all deals, while providing them the benefit of working alongside a vertical- and segment-specific subject-matter expert.
