Telecom Egypt enhances VSAT connectivity with Intelsat

Intelsat S.A. (NYSE: I) has been reaffirmed by Telecom Egypt on its commitment to Intelsat satellite solutions to support communications services in the country, the company said.

Under a multi-year agreement, Telecom Egypt, the country´s incumbent telecommunications operator and the largest communication network in Egypt, will use connectivity provided by Intelsat 10-02, located at 1° West, to provide VSAT services for a network that connects multiple sites across Egypt.

Milestone Aviation leases S-92 to Omni to support offshore oil, gas operations

Milestone Aviation Group Limited has signed a flexible one-year lease of Sikorsky S-92 to Omni Táxi Aéreo S.A. to support Petrobras´ offshore operations in Brazil.

Omni has a short-term requirement for incremental heavy aircraft to serve its customers while uncertainty remains around their Airbus H225s´ return to service timeline. This is the 12th aircraft that Milestone has leased to Omni.

Milestone Aviation Group is a GE Capital Aviation Services company and helicopter leasing company with over 215 helicopters worth USD3.7 billion and supports 32 operators in 26 countries.

GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) offers aviation leasing and financing on a wide range of aircraft types including narrowbodies, widebodies, regional jets, turboprops, freighters and helicopters, plus multiple financing products and services. GECAS owns or services a fleet of over 1,950 aircraft in operation or on order, plus provides loans collateralized on an additional 400 aircraft.

Omni Táxi Aéreo S.A. (OTA)is a helicopter services provider serving the Brazilian oil & gas sector, offering offshore and onshore air transport solutions all over Brazil, including air emergency medical services and seismic support services.

Omni Helicopters International S.A. (OHI)is a financial holding company engaged in fleet management and financial investments in helicopter operators servicing the global offshore energy sector, including OTA.

Intelsat signs extension with Sonema

Intelsat S.A. (NYSE: I) has been extended by Sonema on its agreement for satellite services to support enterprise networks in Africa, the company said.

Sonema, a telecommunications service provider based in Monaco, supports more than 650 VSAT sites for banking and financial institutions across Africa.

The majority of the networks are supported by C-band services from Intelsat 14, located at 315° East, and Intelsat 904, located at 60° East.

Under the multi-year extension, Sonema will integrate C-band connectivity from the Intelsat 33e satellite to expand services to more remote regions of Africa. The combination of Intelsat 14 and Intelsat 33e allows Sonema to provide customized solutions, with a focus on robustness and high quality of experience, to its customers

NICE to provide IP radio recording for Los Angeles County

NICE (Nasdaq: NICE) will be providing its IP radio recording solution for the Los Angeles Regional Interoperable Communications System (LA-RICS) P25 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) project, the company said.

The network, which is being built using P25-compliant technology, will support interoperable communications for 34,000 public safety personnel to enhance emergency incident coordination. This will help keep 10 million residents and businesses in 88 incorporated cities and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County safer and more secure.

NICE is providing IP radio recording along with NICE Inform to support the P25 recording and incident reconstruction needs of the LA-RICS´ member agencies including 50 law enforcement agencies, 31 fire departments, as well as Emergency Medical Services (EMS), transportation and education agencies.

Casto, Freebird partnership to offer instant flight rebooking to travel managers, travelers

Freebird has partnered with Castro Travel to provide Freebird´s mobile rebooking tool to Casto clients and its travelers, the company said.

In the event of a flight disruption, Freebird said its technology empowers travelers to skip the line and instantly book a new ticket from their mobile device on any airline, at no additional cost, in less than 30 seconds, thereby reducing corporate travel manager (CTM) and travel agent burden during high-demand flight disruption events.

The Casto-Freebird partnership is expected to roll-out in the first quarter of 2017, leveraging Freebird´s application programming interface (API) to facilitate integration with existing Casto workflows.
