United Airlines mechanics picket across US

Hundreds of United Airlines mechanics picketed at the San Francisco, Los Angeles (LAX), Newark, LaGuardia, Washington Dulles, Cleveland, Boston Logan and Orlando airports, to educate passengers about upcoming strikes, the company said.

A similar picket is planned at Houston´s IAH airport.

Mechanics recently voted down United´s contract proposal by 93 percent. Mechanics also voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. Over 9,000 mechanics at United are represented by the Teamsters Union, which is petitioning the National Mediation board for a strike release.

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.4 million men and women throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Milbank advises on USD10bn in deals

Fonality marks record growth in 2015

Fonality has reported record revenue growth and profitability for the year ending December 31, 2015, the company said.

Prohibition of lithium-ion batteries as cargo on passenger flights supported by IFALPA

The International Federation of Air Line Pilots´ Associations (IFALPA) supports the International Civil Aviation Organization´s (ICAO) decision this week to prohibit lithium-ion batteries as freight on passenger aircraft, but feels more needs to be done to address the safety of shipments on cargo aircraft.

Both lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries continue to be permitted in unlimited quantities on cargo aircraft, despite the demonstrated risk these shipments pose.

IFALPA supports a long-term solution to develop packaging that will ensure lithium batteries can be shipped safely on both passenger and cargo aircraft, and is committed to working with ICAO and the SAE International to develop the appropriate standards.

Airbus A320-200 delivered to PT Batik by Avolon

Avolon, the international aircraft leasing company, has delivered one Airbus A320-200 aircraft to PT Batik.

This is Avolon´s second aircraft on lease to PT Batik, the company said.

Zebra Technologies net sales up, net loss down YoY

Zebra Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: ZBRA) net sales for the three months ended December 31, 2015, were USD952.7 million, compared with USD790.6 million for the fourth quarter of 2014, the company said.

The GAAP net loss for the fourth quarter was USD6.8 million, or USD0.13 per share, compared with GAAP net loss of USD51.7 million, or USD1.02 per share, for the fourth quarter of 2014.
