Anritsu offers DAS certification course

Anritsu Company said it has offered a three-day distributed antenna system (DAS) certification training program to teach installers theory and procedures for assembling, installing and testing a passive DAS.

The company said participants can learn about DAS components, functions, performance ranges and component cleaning techniques. Participants will experience hands-on training with Anritsu handheld analyzers.

More than 20,000 technicians have been certified through the company´s training programs in the past 13 years.

VimpelCom makes changes to management team

VimpelCom Ltd. (NASDAQ: VIP) said it has changed its management team.

Jeremy Roffe-Vidal will join the company on February 1, 2015 as chief HR officer. Roffe-Vidal was previously HR director and corporate vice president of Cap Gemini S.A.

Andrey Patoka has been promoted to head of the company´s CIS business unit. Patoka has been with the company since 2008 and is currently executive vice president and chief infrastructure officer of OJSD VimpelCom.

Rene Schuster, COO and Anja Uldegaag, chief HR officer are leaving the company.

Verizon hosts free concert in Houston

Verizon´s (NYSE: VZ) newest Destination Store offered a free, two-day event in Houston that featured social media celebrities and pop music artists.

Fans who toured the new 12,224-square foot, two-story store and interacted with the new Lifestyle Zones were eligible to win tickets to a meet-and-greet session with stars of Vine, YouTube, and Twitter.

Stars included Jack & Jack, Jake Miller, Nash Grier, Princess Lauren and Lohanthony, who served as emcee of the weekend event.
