IT company IBM (NYSE:IBM) revealed today that it has agreed to acquire Emptoris Inc, a provider of cloud and on-premise analytics software for spend, supplier and contract management.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
IBM said that Emptoris’ spend management solutions complement the B2B integration and supply chain management capabilities acquired by IBM through its acquisition of Sterling Commerce in 2010.
The addition of Emptoris brings to IBM Smarter Commerce a set of flexible and integrated solutions that orchestrate and manage the sourcing and procurement of goods and materials as part of supply chain management. This is expected to allow IBM to deliver more solutions focused on the needs of sourcing and procurement professionals, the company said.
Emptoris is based in Burlington, Massachusetts and has offices in the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia, India, Brazil and China.
