Southwest Airlines to begin daily San Francisco/Ontario, CA service in June

Southwest Airlines has announced it will launch new flights to San Francisco and expand existing service to Denver from Ontario International Airport (ONT), the company said.

Southwest said it will operate four daily roundtrips between ONT and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) beginning June 9, 2019.

Southwest will also add a third daily flight to Denver International Airport (DEN) effective June 9, 2019.

Southwest is the fourth airline in recent months to begin or announce new flights at ONT. Frontier Airlines launched daily nonstop service to Orlando in August and JetBlue Airways initiated nonstop service to New York City in September. Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines announced plans for service to Atlanta beginning in April.

Ontario International Airport (ONT) is located in the Inland Empire, approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California. It is a full-service airport with nonstop commercial jet service to 19 major airports in the U.S., Mexico and Taiwan, and connecting service to many domestic and international destinations. There is an average of 67 daily departures offered by nine air carriers.
