Syntonic expands with new subsidiary in Brazil

Syntonic, a mobile platform and services provider, has announced its expansion in South America with the formation of Syntonic Brazil, marking an important milestone as the company accelerates plans to serve wireless operators, content providers and consumers around the globe, the company said.

Syntonic Brazil, based in São Paulo, finalized the asset purchase of the Zenvia Mobile Servicos Digitais business unit, acquiring its Mobile Commerce Platform that enables cross-carrier, direct-carrier-billing for online consumer purchases.

Direct-carrier-billing, made popular by its simplicity, convenience and security, is a payment method that allows mobile customers to purchase online content directly from their mobile carrier account. This new Syntonic service will reach virtually all Brazilian mobile customers, providing new revenue opportunities for app publishers and content providers.

Founded in 2013, Syntonic Limited (SYT.ASX) is a Seattle-based software company that enables mobile operators to participate in the growing USD 2 trillion ´app-economy” — specifically, from mobile advertising, mobile commerce, and enterprise mobility — with its industry-leading products: Freeway by Syntonic®, which provides consumers sponsored data access and paid subscription access to premium mobile content; and Syntonic DataFlex®, which enables businesses to cost-efficiently deploy, manage, and operate an employee mobility program.
