Southwest Airlines reports 11.7 billion revenue passenger miles in May 2018

Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) has reported it flew 11.7 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in May 2018, an increase of 4.2 percent from the 11.2 billion RPMs flown in May 2017, the company said.

The company Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 5.2 percent to 13.8 billion in May 2018, compared with May 2017 ASMs of 13.2 billion. The May 2018 load factor was 84.6 percent, compared with 85.4 percent in May 2017.

Southwest Airlines Co. operates a passenger airline that provides scheduled air transportation services in the United States and near-international markets. As of December 31, 2017, the company operated a total of 706 Boeing 737 aircraft; and served 100 destinations in 40 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as 10 near-international countries.
