Ethernet Alliance advances PoE technology with Plugfest

The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, has announced details of its next plugfest, the company said.

Dedicated to pre-standard testing of Power over Ethernet (PoE) technologies against Draft 3.2 of the IEEE P802.3btâ„¢ standard, the event will be held the week of February 12, 2018, at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) in Durham, N.H. Test results will be important to both the ongoing development of the IEEE´s PoE standard and the second generation of the Ethernet Alliance´s PoE Certification Program.

The Ethernet Alliance is a global consortium that includes system and component vendors, industry experts, and university and government professionals who are committed to the continued success and expansion of Ethernet technology. The Ethernet Alliance takes Ethernet standards to market by supporting activities that span from incubation of new Ethernet technologies to interoperability demonstrations and education.
