Airbus to take delivery of Sciaky industrial-scale 3D printer

Sciaky, Inc. has reported that Airbus plans to take delivery of an Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM) 110 3D printing system in December 2016, the company said.

The aircraft manufacturer plans to utilize Sciaky´s industrial-scale metal 3D printing system to produce large structural parts made of titanium.

The company´s EBAM process combines computer-aided design (CAD), additive manufacturing processing principles and an electron beam heat source.

Sciaky, Inc. is a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries, Inc. (PSI), and a supplier of metal 3D printing solutions, including the Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM) process.
