Rare ‘beasts’ see the light at Silverstone Auctions

Some models very rarely come on the open market, but Silverstone Auctions has three truly exceptional examples in its catalogue for the Walter Hayes Sale to be held at Silverstone on in November.

One of the rare cars in the sale is a 1969 AC 428 Coupe manual, believed to be one of only six manual examples originally manufactured. It has been estimated at between £85,000 to £100,000, but for this still represents excellent value for money, especially as 428 prices have been rising rapidly.

However, not to be outshone is a 1960 Lancia Flaminia Sport Zagato 2.5L 3C. The Flaminia, was Lancia’s flagship model at the time and was one of Italy’s most expensive models, evidence of its hand-built craftsmanship. These are so rarely available to buy that this is an opportunity not to be missed. It has been given an estimate of between of £100,000 to £125,000.

Flying the flag for Britain is a superb is a 1958 Jaguar XK 150 S 3.4 Roadster. This home market delivered right-hand drive model is an extremely early example. It’s believed that only nine home market XK150S Roadsters were built in 1958, with a further 35 the following year.
