CyrusOne, Megaport alliance enables elastic cloud connectivity for enterprises, Internet ecosystem

Software-based elastic connectivity provider Megaport Limited´s (ASX: MP1) US subsidiary has signed an alliance agreement with CyrusOne (NASDAQ: CONE) to deliver SDN-enabled, elastic interconnection and cloud exchange services in CyrusOne data centres in the United States, the company said.

Under the agreement with CyrusOne, Megaport becomes a key provider of elastic interconnection and cloud exchange services utilizing the existing CyrusOne National IX (Internet Exchange) infrastructure which provides CyrusOne´s extensive Fortune 1000 customers with data centre interconnection services.

This alliance expands Megaport´s services to 13 new locations in markets that include Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Phoenix, Sterling (Northern Virginia), and San Antonio, among others.

Megaport Limited provides an SDN-based Ethernet fabric that enables real-time provisioning across one platform. It offers Megaport, a high speed Ethernet interface that connects to the Megaport fabric; MegaIX, which owns and operates neutral Internet exchange and provides connectivity to content and services across multiple geographies; and Virtual Cross Connect, a direct Ethernet connection between two Megaports that allows high speed private connectivity.

Megaport Open Alliance is a partnership framework for Megaport and interested partners that enables the use of Megaport´s elastic fabric and software delivery for networking and cloud services.
