Rally CEO joins sovrn board of directors

sovrn Holdings, Inc., advocate of and partner to almost 20,000 publishers across the independent web, TODAY appointed Tim Miller, CEO and chairman of Rally Software (RALY), to the sovrn board of directors.

“Tim has built and grown Rally Software from its founding through a successful public offering and beyond, and his experience will bring valuable perspective to sovrn´s board,” said Walter Knapp, CEO of sovrn. “Tim has nurtured a culture of innovation, collaboration, transparency, and individual empowerment at Rally and we are looking forward to gaining that perspective and competitive edge into our operations at sovrn.”

Under Miller´s leadership, Rally Software raised several rounds of venture capital funding and grew Rally´s revenue over 500 percent from 2008 to 2012. In April 2013, he led Rally through a successful IPO. Miller also served on the board of Gnip, which was acquired by Twitter earlier this year. Before Rally, Miller was CEO of Avitek, which was acquired and became BEA´s highly successful Portal Development Group. He holds an M.S. in management science and information systems and a B.A. in economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, as well as an MBA from Arizona State University.

Miller´s appointment expands the board to six directors including John Battelle, Executive chairman of sovrn, Fred Harman, Managing Partner of Oak Investment Partners, Walter Knapp, CEO of sovrn, Seth Levine, Managing director of Foundry Group, and Greg Martin, Founder and Managing director of Archer Venture Capital.
