Implant Sciences explosives non-radioactive trace detector approved for screening at US airports

Implant Sciences Corp. (OTC: IMSC) said that its QS-B220 desktop explosives trace detector has successfully completed the certification process for the United States Transportation Security Administration´s explosive trace detection qualification requirements for aviation checkpoint and checked baggage screening.

The QS-B220 becomes the first ETD with a non-radioactive source to be added to the TSA´s qualified product list.

The QS-B220 uses ion mobility spectrometry to detect and identify trace amounts of a wide variety of military, commercial, and homemade explosives. It features a radioactive material-free design, push-button maintenance and diagnostics, and a patented inCal internal automatic calibration system.
