Inteliquent voice revenue up 10%

Inteliquent, Inc. (NASDAQ: IQNT) said it generated voice revenue of USD54.9m in the second quarter of 2014, an increase of 10.2 percent, or USD5.1m, from USD49.8m of voice revenue in the second quarter of 2013.

The increase related primarily to an increase in minute volumes, the company said.

Minutes of use increased 15.3 percent to 33.9 billion minutes in the second quarter of 2014, compared to 29.4 billion minutes in the second quarter of 2013. Average rate per minute for the second quarter of 2014 was USD0.00162, a decrease of 4.1 percent, compared to USD0.00169 for the second quarter of 2013.

Revenue from continuing operations for the second quarter of 2014 was USD54.9m, an increase of 2.8 percent, or USD1.5m, from USD53.4m for the second quarter of 2013. Included in revenue from continuing operations for the second quarter of 2013 is USD3.6m related to the global data business sold on April 30, 2013. Data operations for the Americas reporting unit did not meet all criteria required to receive discontinued operations accounting treatment. Excluding revenue from data operations in the Americas reporting unit for the second quarter of 2013, revenue from continuing operations increased USD5.1m in the second quarter of 2014. The increase in revenue from continuing operations is primarily related to an increase in minute volumes.

Network and facilities expense for the second quarter of 2014 was USD23.1m, a decrease of 4.1 percent, or USD1.0m, from USD24.1m for the second quarter of 2013. Network and facilities expense for the second quarter of 2013 included USD1.6m related to the global data business sold on April 30, 2013. Excluding costs from data operations in the Americas reporting unit for the second quarter of 2013, network and facilities expense increased USD0.6m in the second quarter of 2014. The increase in network and facilities expense was primarily due to an increase in minute volumes.
