Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ: WIFI) said that the company is the winner of the 2014 Leading Lights award for Most Innovative Carrier Wi-Fi Deployment, for its deployment of the first Passpoint-enabled networks in commercial venues in the United States.

Boingo received the 2014 honor for its launch of the first public Hotspot 2.0 networks in the United States. The networks were deployed at 23 high traffic airports. They provide seamless access to secure, WPA2 encrypted Wi-Fi for users with Passpoint-certified mobile devices and a Passpoint profile installed. Passpoint eliminates the need for logins, landing page redirects and apps, dramatically improving the user connectivity experience. The networks also provide wireless carriers a standards-based method for cellular offloading.
