ARC, the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by US-based travel agencies rose 4.73 percent year-over-year in the first five months of 2014 compared to the same period last year, totalling USD40.8bn versus USD39bn in 2013.
Ticket transactions through May 2014 increased 1.89 percent over the same period in 2013 to 65.4 million. Year-to-date passenger segments increased 2.6 percent to 151 million compared to 147.2m in 2013.
