Spirit AeroSystems marks 5,000 Next-Generation 737 deliveries

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. (NYSE: SPR) said it has successfully completed 5,000 Next-Generation 737 deliveries to Boeing.

Spirit has been delivering Next-Generation 737s from Wichita since 1998. The company builds the 737 fuselage, engine struts and nacelles in Wichita and wing components in its Tulsa, Okla. facility.

The 737 is Spirit´s largest program. It is currently delivering 42 737s per month to Boeing. It delivered the first Next-Generation 737 in 1998 and has delivered more than 8,000 737s in all, including the 737 Classic.
