Aptilo Networks preparing Wi-Fi offload for World Cup 2014 in Brazil

Anticipating a surge of user activity surrounding 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, three operators in Brazil are working with Aptilo Networks to enable Wi-Fi offloading and carrier Wi-Fi throughout the country and in Maracanã Stadium for the World Cup Final.

TIM Brasil and Oi SA (NYSE: OIBR), two of the largest mobile operators in Brazil, are using the Aptilo service management platform to provide a carrier Wi-Fi service with mobile data offloading. Aptilo is also enabling carrier Wi-Fi services for Linktel, which operates the largest independent network of hotspots in Brazil.
