SkyWest revenue passenger miles up half a percent

SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) reported a 0.5 percent decrease in revenue passenger miles for April, while available seat miles decreased 3.3 percent compared to April 2013.

SkyWest also reported that passenger boardings for April decreased 1.6 percent to 4,954,134 compared to 5,034,736 for the same period last year. Load factor increased to 82.8 percent compared to 80.5 percent in April 2013.

April departures were 6.5 percent below the same period in 2013. As a result of significant weather systems in April 2014, SkyWest canceled approximately 2,000 flights related to weather.
