The US Marine Corps has selected Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) to provide electronic jamming backpack systems to counter the threat of roadside improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Northrop Grumman will deliver and support five initial production systems for testing.
The maximum ceiling for the firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity, multiple award contract is USD90m over five years. The initial contract awarded to Northrop Grumman was USD4.1m for five initial systems. The Navy will purchase an indefinite number of systems.
