Contract between Frontier Communications, CWA extended to end of May

Frontier Communications (NASDAQ: FTR) and the local West Virginia Communications Workers of America have extended their existing contract until 11: 59 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014.

“We continue to make progress during our discussions with the CWA, and we´re hopeful we can build on the common ground that we have established to come to a resolution soon,” East Region Area president Ken Arndt said.

The parties have negotiated since mid-June 2013. The contract expired in August 2013, and Frontier and the CWA have worked on numerous and complex issues during a series of contract extensions.
