Northrop Grumman sets 30% greenhouse gas emission reduction goal by 2020

Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) has announced its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent from 2010 levels by 2020, as part of its commemoration of Earth Day.

“Northrop Grumman is dedicated to top performance in environmental sustainability,” said Wes Bush, chairman, chief executive officer and president. “This new goal sets the bar significantly higher and inspires us to continue to improve our environmental performance.”

Northrop Grumman´s environmental sustainability program employs a strategy that balances energy and resource use reductions with alternative and renewable technology to achieve emissions reductions. In addition to GHG reduction, the company has deployed solid waste generation and water use best management practices, and is on track to achieve its targets in all these areas by the end of 2014.
