Air ticket sales up 4.55% in Q1 2014

ARC, the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, said that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by US-based travel agencies rose 4.55 percent year-over-year in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period last year, totalling USD24bn versus USD23bn in 2013.

March 2014 ticket transactions increased 2.57 percent over the same period in 2013 to 39.5 million. Year-to-date passenger segments increased 2.4 percent to 87.3 million compared to 85.3 million in 2013.
